Service upgrade
Confidesk has moved
The old service is closed. The first time you sign in at the new platform, your mail, your files and your contacts are copied across to it.
How to move your account
- Go to app.confidesk.com and enter your usual username.
- We email a one-time code to your notification address — the external email address on your account. Enter it.
- Choose a passphrase for your new encryption key. You may reuse your old password if you like — it just has to be something you will not forget.
- Enter your old password once, so we can unlock and move your existing data.
- Your mail, files and contacts import in the background. You can start using the mailbox straight away; the import is designed to carry on where it left off if you close the tab.
The move is a security upgrade: your data is re-encrypted with a modern key.
If you have to wait
Importing an account is real work for the servers, so only a limited number run at once. If a lot of people arrive at the same time you may be put in a queue and asked to come back later — your place is kept, and you can simply sign in again.
Subscribers on a paid plan are admitted ahead of the queue.
How long you have
You have until 24 September 2026 to migrate your account. After that, the old account stops receiving email.
What happens to the data on the old account after that date depends on what you were paying:
- Trial or free accounts — the data is removed.
- Paid subscriptions — the data is kept until your subscription expires. You will not receive new email there in the meantime.
A large mailbox can take a while to import, so it is worth starting well before the deadline rather than on the day.
What happens to your plan
If you were on free access, you are added to the new free plan automatically — there is nothing to pay and nothing to choose. If you were on a paid plan, you keep the equivalent tier on the new platform.
If you think you have been put on the wrong plan, don't worry and don't re-register — email support@confidesk.com and we will correct it.
One thing to check first
The one-time code goes to your notification address — the external email address registered on your account. If that address no longer works — a disposable address that has expired, or an old work address you have lost — you will not be able to complete the move on your own.
That is not a dead end: email support@confidesk.com from any address you can use and we will help you get back in.
If the move doesn't work for you
Some accounts can't be moved automatically. If sign-in tells you your account can't be migrated, or you simply get stuck, contact support@confidesk.com — please include your username and the address you'd like us to reply to. In many cases we can sort it out and let you through.
If your account really can't be moved, you're very welcome to start fresh on the new service.
