Confidesk Limited
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, where it is stored, and the choices and rights you have.
Confidesk Limited (“Confidesk”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), a company registered in England and Wales, provides the Confidesk software application via confidesk.com, our web application, and our desktop application (together, the “Service”).
1. Who We Are and Where Data Is Processed
Confidesk Limited is the data controller responsible for your personal data. We are registered in England and Wales. Our infrastructure and servers are located in Switzerland, meaning your data (including data you store within the Service) is hosted on Swiss servers.
2. What Personal Data We Collect
We collect the minimum personal data necessary to operate your account and the Service:
- Name — used to identify your account.
- Email address — used for account access, sign-in, and service communications.
- Billing address — used for invoicing and to process payments.
Beyond this account information, content and data you store within the Service is encrypted, and you are able to delete this data, or your entire account and its associated data, at any time through the Service.
3. How We Use Your Data
- To create and manage your account, including enforcing trial periods, sign-in requirements, storage quotas, and grace periods as described in our Terms of Service.
- To process payments and the one-off account verification fee, via our payment processors Stripe and PayPal.
- To communicate with you about your account, billing, or changes to the Service.
- To detect and prevent illegal or fraudulent use of the Service.
- To show advertising through Google Ads, as described in Section 5 below.
4. Payment Processing
Payments are handled by Stripe and PayPal. When you make a payment, your billing address and payment details are shared with and processed by these providers under their own privacy policies. Confidesk does not store your full payment card details.
5. Advertising (Google Ads)
We use Google Ads, which may use cookies or similar technologies to serve advertising and measure its performance. This may involve the transfer of certain data (such as device or usage identifiers) to Google.
6. We Do Not Sell Your Data
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
- Trial accounts: if you do not sign in for 3 consecutive days during your trial, your trial data is removed 3 days after your last sign-in, and in any event no later than 10 days from account creation.
- Free accounts: if you do not sign in for 30 days, your account enters a 30-day grace period in which no new data can be added. If you do not sign in by the end of that period, your account and associated personal data are deleted.
- Cancelled paid subscriptions where stored data exceeds the free-tier quota: your account has a 90-day grace period to renew or reduce data usage, after which, if unresolved, your account and associated personal data are deleted.
You may request deletion of your account and data manually at any time through the Service; deletion generally takes effect within 14 days, subject to any backups retained for 7 days and any legal obligation to retain billing records.
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights including the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Because our users are located worldwide, the specific rights available to you may depend on your local law (for example, UK/EU GDPR, or other applicable regional data protection laws).
To exercise these rights, contact us at support@confidesk.com. You may also delete most of your own data and your account directly within the Service.
9. International Users
The Service is used by people worldwide, but your data is stored on servers in Switzerland and the Service is operated by a company registered in England and Wales. By using the Service, you understand that your data will be transferred to and processed in these locations.
10. Security
We use encryption to protect the data you store within the Service, as described in Section 2. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data.
11. Children
The Service is not directed at, and is not intended for use by, individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you, for example by email or an in-app notice, before the changes take effect.
13. Contact Us
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or how your data is handled, contact us at support@confidesk.com.
